| Ligths ans Shadows - oleo sobre cartón entelado
In these crazy times of postmodernism, the tranquility of the scenes I paint inspires me today even more than when I first came into contact with them. I attempt to make live the silences, the whispers, the perfumes, the colors, in the contemplation of these rural scenes, so that the viewer can experience their emotional impact.
It may seem that these subjects are merely the simple forms of nature and common life, but that is far from the truth, the reality of this imperfect world delivers a sensitive message which can lead to evocative experiences.
I think art gives us the possibility of contact with the Other, allowing us to show what we attempt to reveal, and gives the viewer the opportunity to be the receiver and translator of reality interpreted by the artirst. The essence of man´s thoughts is universal - so we are continaully posed with the same questions regarding the hidden meaning of things, and ways of being and existence. I feel that my interpretation of the rural enviroment is a return to the roots - the essence of man. I try to give each work an energy that introduces a degree of universality.
